From Passion to Profession: My Journey of Starting a Business with Recycled Fashion

Welcome, fellow moms and eco-conscious friends! I’m Kristin, a proud mom of two wonderful kiddos, wife, and now a small business owner passionate about making a difference—one stitch at a time.

A little about me: I graduated from Virginia Marti College of Art and Design (now North Coast College) in 2013, but my love for sewing started long before that. Thanks to my mom, who taught me how to sew when I was just a kid, I developed a craft that’s been a part of my life ever since. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—working as an Alterations Manager at David’s Bridal, sewing up dog harnesses and leashes at a production company, and creating innovative sewing patterns with Ditto Patterns LLC. When Ditto was acquired by Joann, I decided it was time to turn my passion into a business of my own.

As a mom, I know how quickly children grow out of their clothes. It’s heartbreaking to see those tiny onesies, adorable pants, and cute bibs go to waste. That’s why I started this journey—to help fellow moms reduce waste and breathe new life into kids’ clothes. I believe in the power of reuse and recycling, and I love transforming those outgrown clothes into something new and special.

Here’s what I do: I take old onesies and turn them into adorable dresses or shirts, craft new bibs, make fun pants, and so much more! It’s a fun, creative way to cherish those special memories and reduce our environmental footprint. Plus, it’s a wonderful way to keep the love and memories alive through handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces.

My goal is to build a community of moms who want to make eco-friendly choices without sacrificing style or sentimentality. Whether you need a garment altered, a custom piece made from your child’s outgrown clothes, or even a special memory bear stitched from those favorite shirts, I’m here to help. I can also embroider a meaningful gift for new parents or create custom pajamas for your furry friends—whatever your needs, I’ve got you covered!

I’m so excited to share this journey with you and invite you to explore my website for ideas, inspiration, and services. Let’s work together to reduce, reuse, and recycle—creating beautiful, meaningful items that celebrate our children and the planet they’ll grow up in.

Thank you for stopping by, and don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to hear your stories and help bring your creative ideas to life!

What an amazing way to stay green and recycle. I love this idea because my kids outgrow everything in just a few weeks. If only you could alter shoes.🤣
